The effect of reduced dose of PGF2α on certain reproductive parameters in awassi yearlings in anestrus synchronisation protocol following the end of the of the breeding season

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect administration half or full dose prostaglandinF2α (PGF2α; Gestavet Prost, d-cloprostenol, HIPRA®) injection in a routine synchronization protocol following theend breeding period including intravaginal sponge (medroxyprogesterone acetate; Espanjovet, andeCG (Oviser 500, on certain fertility parameters ewes.Two hundred thirty-eight Awassi yearlings (agedone year old) divided into two groups:116 ewes received (HSDP; 37.5 μg) PGF2α and 122 receivedfull (FSDP;75 μg).The pregnancy rates were 67.2% 72.1% for HSDP FSDP, respectively (P>0.05).The lambing 64.7% 63.9% single rate inHSDP(94.7%) higher (P<0.05) compared that FSDP (73.1%). twin multiple birth FSDPwas than HSDP. As result, it inferred aHSDP could be used withoutexperience lamb care herd which preferable. Moreover, due fact is moreaffordable not detrimentalto fertility, concluded HSDPcan offer an advantage large flocks can beused manipulating fecundity ratesin yearlings.
